    Position Overview:

    Responsible for developing and facilitating training and competencies for Referral Response Coordinator team. Responsible for the daily supervision of referral management within the Inspire the Gift work system to accomplish mission and goals. Provide clinical expertise and guide referral management to support the goal for donation and transplantation rate.

  • Job Qualifications:

    • Associate degree in nursing or allied health science or equivalent experience required. Licensed RN, Paramedic or RRT preferred.
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting or hospital preferred.
    • Minimum of 2 years of previous experience in organ donation.
  • Schedule:

    Schedule: 8; 24-hour frontline call shifts/month

    3-4 in office/onsite training/projects per month

    Hours: 8am- 8am CST

    *holidays and weekends required

  • Compensation:

    Starting at $69,200

    *Iowa Donor Network determines final compensation based on education, experience, and skills relevant to the position.

  • Organization Responsibilities:

    Essential Functions and Performance Responsibilities:

    • Facilitate orientation, education, and training of all Referral Response Coordinator team members.
    • Collaborate with the leaders across the Inspire the Gift team to provide referral management training to Inspire team members.
    • Assist in identifying and participate in process improvement and quality assurance activities to optimize process effectiveness and efficiency.
    • Collaborate across work systems to ensure effective work processes that meet needs of the organization and support the goals for donation and transplantation rate.
    • Advise team members on referral management including onsite response, chart review, and Brain Death Testing.
    • Assist with Referral Response Coordinator schedule operation needs

    Skills and Abilities:

    • Successful demonstration of strong initiative, excellent critical thinking, analytical skills, problem-solving capabilities, and discretionary decision-making ability.
    • Proven self-directed and motivated independent contributor as well as a results-oriented team member.
    • Excellent time management and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Proven skill and competent using technology-based devices and mobile tools such as personal computers and related software, and electronic medical record systems.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Must receive required vaccines based on outlined schedules to protect our employees, healthcare personnel, donors, recipients, and families we may come into contact. (e.g., Influenza obtained annually by December 1st and COVID vaccine upon required timeline.)
    • Work rotating on-call, variable schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holiday. Base shifts per month is 9. Must have ability to assist outside the posted schedule.
    • During peak, prolonged periods of donor case activity, must have the ability to travel within the service area (state of Iowa) and fill role of Referral Response Coordinator.
    • Possible mental and visual fatigue associated with fast-paced, detailed work.
    • Express ideas verbally and convey detailed or important spoken information.
    • Receive detailed information through oral and auditory communication.
